Oh, yes! We know
it all to well. Leave Friday and back home Sunday means you
are being responsible abour your job. Well, you can also do
the Friday-Tuesday stuff that I tend to do but then, I guess,
you must have some flexibility.
Well, it does
not really matter whether your weekend travel is for 2 or
4 days (or 3). What matters is that the characteriics sourrsding
a "City weekend" enables us to give you some advide
on you packing.
I imagne your
city weekend to be:
- Travel from
your home city to one other city and back
- Transportation
by air
- Accomodation
is a hotel or a motel (save some bucks, right)
- Reason is
some quick free space, an opportunity to get away from the
usual sorrundings. You can visit a new city each time and
actually make a City weekend quite a holiday. It does not
matter whether it's a city on the opposite coast, Paris,
France or just good old Las Vegas.
Do
we agree so far?
Good!
Then here is our
suggestions for you suitcase, sports bag, sack, shopping cart
or whatever you usually pack in (I do not recommend shopping
carts).
- Most important
- Identification. Obviously if you are going
to leave your country you need your passport but even
domestic travel requires (more or less) some form of
government issued ID.
- Money. Not nescesally a lot of cash, no, actually
that would be such a bad idea. Credit cards and traveller's
checks are the way to pay on you way. Money is the most
important thing to remember after ID.
- Air Tickets. Yes, it is true, without tickets
you cannot leave the airport on a plane! And I bet you
do not fancy leaving it in you own car driving home
and cursing at yourself for having forgotten the tickets.
It is also true that tickets can be replaced but trust
me, this is a lot of hassle! If you can avoid paper
tickets then do so and travel hassle free with an E-ticket.
- Important
- Clothes. Duh! No, I bet you are not going to
show up naked at the airport, and if you are female
then you may be able to skip this part since usually
you will know just fine how to pack (too much) clothes.

- Things to bring
- If space permits
